NVSPS Activities

The squadron conducts many activities for its members and the general public.

NVSPS News

    Welcome, new members!

    NVSPS recently received the USPS Community Service award for the squadron's outreach to wounded warriors and economically devestated communities. See details here. See pictures of our latest Wounded Warrior cruise here.

    Sea Scout Andrew Scheuermann was recently recognized as one of the most decorated Sea Scouts in America. See the list of his awards and learn more here. Congratulations, Andrew!

    Activities Calendar

    The squadron maintains an activities calendar that lists Power Squadron related events, meetings, and deadlines. If you have updates for the calendar, please contact the Secretary using this email link

    The National Capitol Boat Show is being held 12-14 March in Chantilly, VA. You can attend the show for free by staffing the NVSPS booth at the show. Contact Ed Phillips via his email to volunteer.

    At the June, 2009 general membership meeting, an extensive NOAA Weather Service briefing was presented. See the 113 slide presentation here.

    Rendezvous & Cruises

    During the boating season, the squadron participates in on-water events, such as cruises and rendezvous. Details of these upcoming events are available in the NVSPS newsletter.

    This fall, the squadron hosted a boating event for Wounded Warriors from Walter Reed Hospital. See an article about the very successful event.

    Social Events

    Squadron members enjoy seasonal outings, such as the winter holiday party and the spring fling picnic. These events are great fun and build comradery among members.
